Redress WA
The State Government announced a $114 million scheme, commencing in May 2008, to acknowledge adults who, as children, were abused while in State care in Western Australia. Redress WA will assist individuals in recognition of the harm they suffered while in State care prior to 1 March 2006. Find out more.
Regional Services
The DIA's Regional Office network consists of seven regions. Regional Offices deliver the department’s services at the local level. They aim to gain an understanding of local Indigenous issues and needs and to improve access to programs and other services. Find out more.
Bilateral Agreement on Indigenous Affairs
The Bilateral Agreement on Indigenous Affairs was signed by the State of Western Australia and the Commonwealth of Australia. Reconciliation Action PlanThe Minister for Indigenous Affairs, Hon Michelle Roberts MLA, launched the Department of Indigenous Affairs' (DIA) Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) on Thursday 31 January 2008. Find out more
Stolen Wages
The Government of Western Australia has approved a Task Force to examine and prepare advice on future stolen wages policy options. The term ‘stolen wages’ refers to wages, savings, entitlements and other monies of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people that may have been controlled between 1905 and 1972. Find out more .
Burrup Peninsula
The Burrup Peninsula, a part of the Dampier Archipelago, is located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. The Archipelago has now been included in Australia’s National Heritage List for its outstanding Aboriginal heritage and values. Find out more.
Find Your MobThe Aboriginal History Research Unit (AHRU) works in partnership with the community and other government agencies to assist Aboriginal people identify their family ties and cultural links to the land. Find out more.

WAIFSThe WA Indicator Frameworks Systems ( WAIFS ) is a DIA initiative to improve accessibility to and assist with reporting of measured outcomes for State Government frameworks. Government agencies wanting to add their frameworks to the system can email DIA.
ENRICH
The Government and private sector can now receive wide recognition for projects that promote understanding, acceptance and respect for Indigenous culture and heritage by applying to use the ENRICH signature. Find out more.
PALS Awards
A grant for $750 is available to all schools to enter the PALS Schools Reconciliation Awards annually. The PALS awards encourage all students within their school communities to develop projects and activities that promote and advance reconciliation. Funding for PALS projects in 2008 is open, so register for an opportunity to win fabulous art works by some of the state's well known Indigenous artists. Visit PALS
