Cultural promotions
The Aboriginal History Research Unit (AHRU) holds at least six road shows throughout Western Australia every year. These workshops provide members of Aboriginal communities with the opportunity to speak to an AHRU Family History Officer face to face to find out where their family records are held and how to gain access to the information.
The Officers take along a collection of Norman Tindale photographs and can assist in filling out application forms for access to family history information. They also provide an overview of DIA services.
Visits on request
The AHRU is happy to attend workshops throughout Western Australia on request of communities themselves. If you want to invite the unit to visit your community, contact an AHRU officer.
