Dampier rock art forum: The National Trust of Australia will hold a forum on the Heritage Values of the Dampier Rock Art Precinct (The Dampier Archipelago) next month. A range of speakers will discuss the issues surrounding the world’s most significant petroglyph (rock art) site. So far at least 4776 pieces of rock art have been recorded as being destroyed in the Dampier Rock Art Precinct, however, it is accepted that the actual the number is far greater. The forum will be held at the Alexander Library Building on Francis Street from 9am to 4pm on Friday, 5 May. The forum is free but RSVP is essential. To attend call 9321 6088.

Grant writing forum: The City of Armadale will host a grant writing forum aimed at helping community groups prepare successful grant applications and find out more about funding programs. Presenters from different organisations will give information on their funding programs and workshop application preparations and will also be available for individual discussions on funding ideas and opportunities. Young Indigenous leadership program: Millenium Kids, a non-profit youth organisation, is looking for eight young Indigenous people to join its leadership program. The Environmental Citizenship and Project Management Training program is designed to help young leaders learn how to design, plan and manage a safe and fun project in their local community or school. The Dreaming Festival: Expressions of interest to take part in Australia’s international Indigenous festival – The Dreaming Festival – for the June 2007 program close on 31 May. This year the festival runs from 9 to 12 June at the Woodford Folk Festival site in Queensland. The festival is a vibrant mix of Indigenous arts from across the country and includes music, performance, visual arts, ceremony, comedy, craft workshops, food and wine, film and literature and much more.
