Third National Reconciliation Forum in Kalgoorlie: The third National Reconciliation Forum is on 13 and 14 March at the WMC Centre in Kalgoorlie. This year's Forum will discuss how the use of technology can help deliver outcomes in health,  education, communication, training and employment to the Indigenous community. Lieutenant General John Sanderson, special adviser to the Premier of Western Australia on Indigenous Affairs, will give a keynote address and take part in a round table discussion on "Where to from here with Reconciliation". Time to Start Planning for PALS: Thousands of West Australian school children are set to embark on a journey of discovery and self-fulfilment under an award winning program that strives to create new understanding of the State's Indigenous history and culture. “The PALS program has become an integral part of many school's teaching plans since it began in 2004,” Department of Indigenous Affairs acting Director General Amanda Cattermole said. "It encourages young people to take a leadership role in strengthening the relationships that exist in their local community between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people. Ngapartji Ngapartji at PIAF: Intense, revealing and sometimes confronting, the play Ngapartji Ngapartji (I Give You Something, You Give Me Something) is a story about the Cold War's impact on a Western desert community. Performers, including Elders and young people from the Pitjantjatjara community, tell the story of Trevor Jamieson and his family, an epic account spanning five countries and five decades. Ngapartji Nagapartji is part of the Perth International Arts Festival. For more information, click here.

International Women's Day Breakfast: The Equal Opportunity Commission will host its annual International Women’s Day breakfast in the Golden Ballroom of the Sheraton Hotel, 207 Adelaide Terrace, from 7.30am on Thursday,  8 March. Equal Opportunity Commissioner Yvonne Henderson will welcome guests, followed by a Welcome to Country by Marie Taylor. The key note address is by international and human rights law professor Hilary Charlesworth of the Australian National University (ANU). Rio Tinto launches Community Website: Mining corporation Rio Tinto has launched a website that focuses on the company's community investment programmes in WA. Browse through stories about initiatives and find out how to gain support for your own program by clicking here.

Learning to Understand your Teen: Understanding your teen is a free two hour presentation by Mercy Reconnect to provide parents with strategies to understand the important issues that teens deal with. Parents can choose from a range of topics such as anger management, challeninging behaviours, drugs and alcohol or parenting skills. Presentations are scheduled from 7pm to 9 pm on the following dates: Thursday, 22 February - Clarkson, Wednesday, 28 February - Mirrabooka, Wednesday, 7 March - Gosnells, Wednesday, 14 March - Rockingham. Bookings are essential, so if you are interested, please phone 1800 800 046 to book your spot.
