DIA Reconciliation Grants: Grants of up to $5000 are available for innovative community-based initiatives that promote or preserve Indigenous culture, strengthen relationships and build awareness between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people.  Successful applicants are eligible to register their project as an ENRICH program, carrying the handprint on all promotional and marketing material as a symbol of optimism, harmony and respect for Indigenous people, culture and heritage. The Dreaming '08 - Australia's International Indigenous Festival: The Dreaming has created a site for Indigenous people across generations to reclaim and maintain their ancestral culture. The Dreaming is a vibrant, exciting and a valuable destination for local, national and international audiences with a comprehensive showcase of Indigenous arts. The 2007 program will run from 8 to12 June and will feature visual arts, craft workshops, film and literature components, new and digital media, performing arts, ceremony, performance artists, physical theatre, comedy, a music program, street performers, musicals, a youth program and food and wine fare. The Dreaming aspires to develop mentorships, secondments and training across all arts industry areas. WA Indigenous Women's Gathering: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Women of WA will meet at a forum in Perth during the month of May. An estimated 150 women, government officials and community leaders are expected to attend. For more information, please contact Mary Cowley at the DIA on 9235 8000.

Bula'bula Arts Aboriginal Corporation Job Opportunity: Bula'bula Arts Aboriginal Corporation is seeking a new Manager for its Marketing, Business and Finance branch. The Aboriginal owned and governed arts organization is based in Ramingining, a small community in central Arnhem Land, approximately 450 kilometres east of Darwin and nearly 30 kilometres inland from the Arafura Sea. A Rewarding Career Working with Young People: The Department of Corrective Services is seeking applications to work as juvenille custodial officers in its secure metropolitan juvenille custodial centres. This position offers many rewarding opportunities for personal growth and career satsifaction, and for making a real difference to the lives of young people. Information sessions regarding the position are scheduled for March 31 at the Corrective Services Academy (4 Allen Court, Bentley) for 9.30am and for 4 April at the Aboriginal Alcohol and Drug Service (211 Royal Street, East Perth) for 12.30pm. Forum on Indigenous Drink Driving & Licensing:

Over-represention of Indigenous people in road trauma statistics is the focus of a lunch time forum to be held on Thursday, 5 April 2007 at the City West Lotteries House (Conference Room). Presented by  Kylie Olney from the Office of Road Safety, the forum will explain how the project aims to introduce a series of practical interventions related to primary, secondary and tertiary prevention for Aboriginal communities. RSVP by April 4 by phone 9420 7212 or email iccwaevents@iccwa.org.au Light lunch is provided. 

Invitation to attend Community Contact Lunch: Local service providers and community representatives are invited to attend a "Community Contact Lunch," to learn more about the services and programs offered by the South East Employment Directions Network. Employment Directions is a free service funded by the WA Department of Education and their services are available to everyone. The information lunch session is on Thursday, 5 April 2007 at Lotteries House Meeting Room (122 Forrest Road, Armadale). BYO Lunch for a 12pm start. William Barton Plays WA: William Barton, one of Australia's finest traditional didgeridoo players, will perform in two concerts for the Totally Huge New Music Festival presented by Tura New Music on Thursday, 3 May abd Saturday, 5 May at 8pm at the Art Gallery of Western Australia. Indigenous Australian Student Liaison Officer Position at Curtin: Expressions of interest are invited from Indigenous Australians to deliver academic and career advice and support to Indigenous students within Curtin Business School (CBS). The role of the Inidgenous Australian Student Liaison Officer includes developing and promoting a strong working relationship between CBS, the centre for Aboriginal Studies and the local community and be responsible for the implementation and cultivation of an Indigenous mentoring program for CBS students.
